The 132nd edition of Labour Day was celebrated on May 1, 2018 in Cameroon on the theme: "Social dialogue: a factor in the promotion decent work and socio-economic progress in Cameroon".

Following a massive participation of CCAA workers in the parade at the ‘20th May Boulevard’, the staff of the CCAA headquarters met at the Conference Centre in Yaoundé, to commune with the top management around a buffet.

Speaking during the event, the Director General expressed optimism about the subsequent achievement of goals set in the CCAA’s strategic plan. She urged the staff to more mobilization; to focus on the goal in order to continue to produce results hailed by the government of the Republic.

Madam the Director General went on to announce the reinforcement of airport security workforce- through the recruitment of 81 airport security officers. She added that aerodrome firefighters would be suitably classified soon. Also as a good mother would, she reassured the staff about some other much talked about expectations.

On his part the CCAA workers spokesman and staff representative praised all the efforts made by the Directorate General to render work more decent for the CCAA personnel and was hopeful that some glaring issues would be solved.

This ceremony also served as a framework to express gratitude to 15 retired workers of the CCAA. It should be noted that festivities to mark the 132nd edition of Labour Day at the CCAA began with a round table conference and sports activities.

The highlight of the day was the musical treat offered by the CCAA choir.
