Air Transport Facilitation: NATFP comes into force in Cameroon
Through Decree No. 2025/172 of 02 May 2025, the President of the Republic of Cameroon, H.E. Paul Biya, approved and enacted the National Air Transport Facilitation Programme (NATFP).
Aligned with the Standards and Recommended Practices of ICAO Annex 9 (Facilitation), this regulatory framework establishes measures to simplify, harmonize, and secure border control procedures at all aerodromes open to public air transport operations in Cameroon. It seeks to expedite the clearance of aircraft, passengers, crew members, baggage and cargo while reducing unnecessary administrative constraints.
Applicable to all public administrations and public and private stakeholders across the air transport sector, the NATFP strengthens inter-agency coordination under the authority of the National Air Transport Facilitation Committee (NATFC).
This major milestone reflects Cameroon’s commitment to improving service quality, enhancing the attractiveness of its aviation sector, and ensuring a smoother, safer, and more efficient travel experience in line with international standards.
