On the sidelines of the work of the 40th General Assembly of ICAO ongoing in Montreal, the Minister of Transport Jean Ernest Massena NGALLE BIBEHE visited the assembly plant of Airbus A220 located in Mirabel, a suburb of Montreal, on Wednesday 25 September 2019.

On this occasion, he was accompanied by the High Commissioner of Cameroon to Canada, the Cameroonian Representative to ICAO and the Directors General of the Cameroon Civil Aviation Authority (CCAA) and Camair-Co.

It was therefore an opportunity for the Cameroon Delegation to absorb the technical, operational and commercial capabilities of the A220-100, A220-200 and A220-300 family of airbuses.

It is important to note that from a technical and operational point of view, these aircraft offer a capacity of 100 to 150 seats, a reduction in fuel consumption of 20% and a reduction in maintenance costs estimated at around 25% compared to aircraft of the same type. Moreover, the aircrafts are adapted for regional and intercontinental domestic flights.

It should be noted that negotiations had already been initiated with the Airbus manufacturer in the past. To this end, the Minister of Transport wishes to reassure public opinion as to the continuation of said negotiations by the Camair-co Chief Executive Officer with a view to completing this project.
