Since 06 July 2020, nineteen (19) Airport Security Officers (AS0) of Cameroon's international airports have been taking part in a training course which conferred them the first certification of AVSEC instructors at the Cameroon Civil Aviation Authority (CCAA) Training School's Centre in Yaoundé.

This, within the framework of capacity building of its staff, and in order to better equip these personnel who are called upon to participate in the daily upkeep of security on our airport platforms, that the CCAA  organized this training which ends on July 15, 2020.

It should be noted that this training comes pursuant to a rigorous selection process based on conduct and proven professional skills that these 19 ASOs, aspiring to certification as AVSEC instructors, were been selected. Other selection criteria included, remarkable results obtained by the ASOs during their initial security training, 123 bases, cargo and airmail, X-ray imaging, etc...

This training comes at a time when the validity period of certifications of some instructors draws to its end. This is therfore an opportunity to renew these expired certifications.

Also, at the end of the training, these learners and their instructors will be evaluated by four supervisors-Mrs. Kang Jeannette, Mr. Engolo Alfred, Mr. Mballa Félicien and Mr. DIM Clément.

The organization of this training is an ideal opportunity to demonstrate once again, the ambition to make the CCAA Training School a center for excellence in civil aviation security in the Central African sub-region.

As a reminder, the CCAA Training School has three training centers namely, Garoua, Douala and Yaounde. It is certified as an associate member of the ICAO Trainair Plus programme, has 217 training kits and an instructor's  register.
