2022 Labour Day: staff and senior managers in complete harmony

The company organised a series of activities in honour of the workers to mark the 136th edition of the International Labour Day (ILD), the highlight of which was the celebrations on 1 May 2022 at its headquarters in Mvan.
A great moment of celebration on May 1, 2022 at the headquarters of the Cameroon Civil Aviation Authority between the workers and the management.
Indeed, after two years of recess due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the CCAA staff gathered around the Deputy Director General to share a sumptuous meal that was offered to them and to spend some good moments of relaxation.
This moment of celebration also gave the employees' representative the opportunity to thank the Directorate General for the efforts made to preserve jobs since the occurrence of Covid-19. He also expressed delight at the multiple achievements recorded recently by the CCAA, such as the construction of the architectural jewel housing the Training School, the construction of the Emergency Operations Centre at the Yaounde-Nsimalen International Airport, and many other projects currently being finalised. Thereafter, the spokesperson of the staff delegates seized the opportunity to spell out a list of grievances, namely, the granting of gratification to the staff, the respect of the clauses of the insurance contract by the insurer, the setting up of an occupational health and safety committee and the good circulation of information within the company etc.
In response to these expectations, the Deputy Director General first congratulated the good organisation of this edition, and then the CCAA staff were given assurances regarding their request.
Regarding the health insurance benefits, he instructed the committee in charge of monitoring the said contract to ensure compliance with the clauses because "the General Management is aware of the importance of the workers' health".As for the bonus, "this matter will be brought to the Board of Directors" he said. Regarding the other concerns, he promised that they will be resolved progressively so that the staff will have better working and safety conditions, Management's wish being to start the year 2023 without social debts.
He also took the opportunity to return to the challenges facing the company in the context of the pandemic, where air traffic figures are still below those of the pre-Covid-19 period. Hence his call for greater awareness, discipline and vigilance.
It should be noted that the atmosphere at the headquarters was the same in the different commands, as the means were made available to all airport commanders by the Directorate General for a perfect organisation of this celebration.
The theme of this 136th edition of the ILD it should be recalled is: "Labour world: combatting covid-19, safeguarding jobs and ensuring productivity".
