Year 2019: Call for achievements to be consolidated

The Director General of the CCAA invited all staff to practice values contained in the acronym A.E.R.I.E.N on a daily basis in order to foster air transport growth and contribute to the emergence of Cameroon during the New Year Wishes presentation ceremony organized Monday, February 04, 2019 in Yaoundé.

Characterized by sunny weather, the New Year Wishes Presentation ceremony took place at the rear yard of the Head office of the Cameroon Civil Aviation Authority (CCAA). Men and women of the Yaoundé-Nsimalen International Airport and of the Head Office turned out in their numbers for the rendezvous all dressed up to the nines.

The 2018 balance sheet includes many achievements as revealed by Madam the Director General. The CCAA obtained 68.85 percentage rating of effective implementation of civil aviation security oversight system, 70.96 compliance rating of its security system with Standards and Recommended Practices SARPs of the ICAO, rehabilitation works were conducted at Bafoussam, Bamenda, Ngaoundere and Maroua airports, the National Civil Aviation Security programme was satisfactorily implemented, staff’s technical skills were strengthened, the modernization of infrastructure  and security equipment at international airports continued,  the aerial component of the Transport Sector Development Project was implemented and monitored, the CCAA’s training School was endorsed, the first phase of the CCAA’s new head office project was launched, the CCAA complemented the national airline CAMAIR CO, the Yaounde Nsimalen and Douala International airports were certified and the aviation safety supervision system of the CCAA was ISO 9001-2015 certified just to name a few achievements.

Satisfactory results which call for more work and accountability. Hence the Director General invited all staff of operational and support structures to Action, Equity, Responsibility, Integrity Team spirit and Innovation whose French abbreviation is (A.E.R.I.E.N). In a nutshell it means getting underneath the skin of Aviation.

Following Mrs Paule AVOMO ASSOUMOU KOKI's prospective and keynote address, staff of the CCAA took part in the New Year greeting exchange ritual in happy reunion. For the first time, the Internal Procurement Commission (CIPM), the anti-corruption unit and some branches of the Ministry of Finance (MINFI) also took part in the celebrations.
