Under the leadership of the Director General of the CCAA, rehabilitation work has been conducted at the Bafoussam and Bertoua airports in August 2018.

This involved the installation and commissioning of certain basic equipment for the operation of these airports.

In the aerodromes of Bafoussam and Bertoua, the installed equipment include: two (2) inverters, protection cabinets, new generation registers of sixteen (16) analog channels and eight (8) digital.

In addition, the control tower furniture is incorporated with a control console, intercom, two (2) portable VHF sets, a logger and a security intercom all rehabilitated.

This equipment will no doubt contribute to a better functioning of these airports. They constitute an important guarantee for the safety of flights at these airports as air traffic controllers at Bertoua and Bafoussam airports will now be better equipped to ensure the smooth flow of flights on these airport platforms.

It should be noted that these improvements fall in line with the CCAA's sovereign missions, namely the planning of the development of secondary airports and the management of their operations.

These important investments are proof that the CCAA recognizes the place of secondary airports, in the development of the airport system of our country.

After the rehabilitation of Ngaoundere airport in the coming days the CCAA will immediately take on strengthening the human resources of these three secondary airports.

In addition to the fact that these airports will serve as the arrival point for the Africa Cup of nations (AFCON) 2019, the CCAA believes it is but normal to invest in secondary airports in order to increase domestic flights and boost the economic development of our country.
