Cameroon took part in the 11th ICAO Conference on Air Services Negotiations (ICAN 2018) last December in Nairobi, Kenya.

ICAN has been a central forum for bilateral and multilateral aviation negotiations established by ICAO since 2018 to allow a participating State to meet several other States in one place.

During the 2018 edition, the Cameroonian delegation led by Mr. ALLABIRA Mamadou, Deputy Director General of the Cameroon Civil Aviation Authority, met with the delegations of Nigeria, Luxembourg, Qatar, the United States, Germany, Guyana and the United Kingdom.

These aeronautical consultations led to the signing of new air service agreements with Guyana and the United Kingdom and the signing of MoUs with Nigeria, Luxembourg and Qatar to improve the traffic rights of designated air carriers. Negotiations with the German side will continue in 2019 for the finalization of a new air service agreement between the two countries.

When concluded, these air service agreements will pave the way for the development of new air service opportunities between Cameroon and the States concerned.
