The Cameroon Civil Aviation Authority (CCAA) is continuing the process of strengthening security at Cameroon's airports. The structure has just acquired 12 purebred dogs (Malinois, Belgian and German Shepherds) from Holland.

These dogs arrived in Cameroon January 21, 2019. At the moment the dogs are trained by specialized dog training behaviorists and will be used for the detection of explosives and narcotics on our airports.

With their presence at airports, the CCAA will be able to further refine methods of control and detection of banned drugs or explosives in packages and bags carried by travelers.

At the end of their in-depth training in specialized detection techniques scheduled for May 2019, they will be deployed at the various international airports in Cameroon and used by 12 dog masters who have been recruited by the CCAA.

This operation favors the creation of dog units (K9 ASU) which is carried out within the framework of the integrated program of improvement of security on international airports in Cameroon.
