26th Meeting of the Steering and Monitoring Committee of the Transport Sector Development Project (TSDP) - Air Component
During the March 14, 2025 session in Douala, the Chairman and committee members reviewed and approved the activity report of the Management Unit of the Transport Sector Development Project (TSDP) - Air Component as of December 31, 2024. They also conducted site visits to key projects currently underway.

Before the formal meeting, the committee members conducted field inspections to assess the progress of the following projects at Douala International Airport: construction of the security fence, supply and installation of security equipment, and the two phases of the patrol road development.
The committee noted that the patrol road development is progressing smoothly and is expected to be completed by April 2025.
However, the installation of the security fence at Douala International Airport requires further attention. The contractor was urged to accelerate the work and deploy additional teams to critical areas.
Following discussions with the contractors during the formal session, the committee adopted the activity report as of December 31, 2024, with numerous recommendations to boost the performance of companies operating at the Douala airport platform to achieve the committee’s established objectives.

Overall, as of December 31, 2024, out of the 45 activities funded by the TSDP-Air Component, 29 contracts were completed and accepted, 14 contracts were in progress, and 2 contracts were scheduled to commence in 2025.
It is important to note that all activities conducted under the TSDP-Air Component are geared towards ensuring compliance with international civil aviation safety and security standards, as mandated by ICAO.
As the project approaches its scheduled completion date at the end of June 2025, the committee members urged the project team to make every effort to finalize the work on time.
