Cameroon Civil Aviation Authority Training School Showcases Aviation Careers
The Cameroon Civil Aviation Authority (CCAA) Training School (EFO CCAA) presented various aviation professions during the Cameroonian Defence and Security Forces Open Days. This event took place at Yaoundé's Air Base 101 from May 17 to 19, 2025, serving as a prelude to the National Unity Day festivities on May 20.
The event provided an opportunity for EFO CCAA to highlight its crucial role in developing expertise within Cameroon's aeronautical industry. For three days, EFO CCAA staff educated numerous visitors, including parents, students, and professionals, on its training programs and aviation careers.

The Minister of Defence and officials at the EFO CCAA stand
The highlight of the event was the visit to the EFO CCAA stand of Mr. Joseph Beti Assomo, Minister of Defence, and other distinguished government officials. This gesture was highly appreciated by CCAA's Top Management, who expressed their sincere gratitude to the Minister of Defence. In response, the Minister commended the significant efforts made by CCAA's Directorate General in competency development, emphasising its necessity for the aviation industry at both national and international levels.
Addressing the global aviation skill gaps
Established in 2016, EFO CCAA aims to train a new generation of qualified professionals and address the global aviation industry's deficit in technical human capital.
A significant addition to its curriculum is the Bachelor's degree in Air Navigation Services and Aerodrome Operations, scheduled to commence in October 2025. This three-year university program represents a major advancement in EFO's planning. The annual tuition fee will be 1,500,000 FCFA for Cameroonian students and 2,000,000 FCFA for international students, a competitive fee for a globally recognised program. This unique and comprehensive training is designed to equip graduates with key skills, enabling them to simultaneously perform the roles of Aeronautical Information Management (AIM) Agent, Aerodrome Operations Technician, and Aerodrome Flight Information Service (AFIS) Agent.
To enhance accessibility for young people, a scholarship program is integrated into this new degree.

Comprehensive training with global recognition
Beyond this new bachelor's program, EFO CCAA showcased a wide array of professional courses. These include the Aircraft Maintenance and Recurrent Training program (currently underway), a one-year course, and a diverse range of training in critical areas such as Air Safety and Security, and Environmental Management.
These programs are delivered following the ICAO TRAINAIR PLUS model, ensuring global recognition. This includes training in areas like Aviation Law, CORSIA Verification, Training Competency Development, Flight Safety, Aviation Safety Management, and Aviation Management. EFO CCAA has established numerous national and international partnerships, extending its expertise beyond Cameroon's borders. Its graduates quickly integrate into the job market; for instance, two graduates from the first Aircraft Maintenance and Recurrent Training class were recruited by the French-Luxembourgish group Vallair.
This exhibition served as an excellent platform to promote EFO CCAA, a flagship institution in civil aviation skills development.
