On Friday, July 11, 2025, Ms. Paule Avomo Assoumou Koki, Director General of the CCAA, launched the first round of discussions with Security Operational Agents (SOAs) at Yaoundé-Nsimalen International Airport. This initiative is part of an ongoing dialogue process, which will continue at Douala International Airport with these officers responsible for implementing security measures.

Mme, the DG, leading discussions on comfort and discipline at work.

The meeting was attended by their supervisors and heads of departments of the CCAA.

The main objective of this consultation was to strengthen ties, promote a sense of belonging to the CCAA, and create a climate of serenity within the group. Given that these officers are on the front line in contact with travellers and that the volume of work entrusted to them is considerable, it was essential to remind them of the impact of their brand image on the organisation, as well as their rights and obligations as employees under the responsibility of top management.

The session, which lasted more than five hours, was marked by rich and constructive exchanges. Mrs. Paule Avomo Assoumou Koki began by lauding the commitment of the ASO, then listened attentively to their grievances and points of satisfaction.

Supervisors and ASOs listen attentively.

The officers expressed their satisfaction with their remuneration, the quality of management, their working environment, in particular access to comfortable and prestigious transportation, the quality of their work uniforms, and the availability of equipment. However, they also raised several concerns: better management of rest time, greater recognition of the dog handler profession, and improvements in their daily comfort, career prospects, and the management of risks related to their job.

In response to these expectations, the Director General promised that concrete and urgent action would be taken. The CCAA plans to set up several modern rest areas in airports, as well as well-equipped canteens, similar to that in Douala. Particular emphasis will also be placed on access to training and improving career prospects. The participation of certain ASO staff in various internal projects as experts, as well as their involvement in specialised training, was welcomed and appreciated.

At the end of the meeting, the Director General expressed her satisfaction with the quality of the discussions and encouraged the ASOs to maintain their discipline and enthusiasm for their work. This consultation, which is intended to be ongoing, demonstrates the CCAA's commitment to maintaining a peaceful social climate, which is essential for optimal performance.

Discussions will continue at other airports in the network.
