The IATA Winter 2026/2027 operating schedules submitted by airlines serving Cameroon were officially approved following a schedule coordination and approval meeting held on Thursday, 8 October 2026, at the Training School of the Cameroon Civil Aviation Authority (CCAA). Coordinated by the Head of the CCAA Air Transport Division, the meeting brought together representatives of airlines, ASECNA (Agency for Aerial Navigation Safety in Africa and Madagascar), Airports of Cameroon (ADC), and other key stakeholders from across the aviation sector.

For the Winter 2026/2027 season, 21 scheduled airlines will operate services to and from Cameroon, following the approval committee's endorsement of all submitted schedules without reservation, reflecting renewed confidence in the strength and diversity of the country's air transport offering.

This season is characterized by a significant increase in overall capacity, with the introduction of four additional weekly frequencies compared with the IATA Summer 2026 season. This growth is primarily driven by stronger activity on sub-regional and intra-African networks. It is notably illustrated by the market entry of Nigerian carrier Enugu Air, which will commence operations with two weekly flights, and by the expansion of Air Peace's network, with three additional weekly frequencies. Furthermore, Royal Airways Chad and EgyptAir are also increasing their services, moving from three to four weekly flights each. In the air cargo segment, Air Ghana will operate DHL services under a cooperation agreement with Allied Air.

However, some adjustments have also been recorded on intercontinental routes. Turkish Airlines will reduce its weekly frequency from seven to five services, while Air Algérie will operate three weekly flights, thereby improving passenger journey times through the elimination of stopovers in Abuja and N'Djamena. Conversely, Air France will maintain its overall winter programme while temporarily increasing frequencies in December 2026 and January 2027 to accommodate peak holiday demand, supported by the deployment of a next-generation Airbus A350-900 aircraft.

The 2026/2027 season will also be marked by stability among ten airlines that will maintain their schedules unchanged. These include Camair-Co, Brussels Airlines, Air Côte d'Ivoire, Ethiopian Airlines, Royal Air Maroc, ASKY Airlines, CEIBA Intercontinental, Cronos Airlines, ECAir, and Allied Air.

During the discussions, ASECNA indicated that Cameroon's airspace has not yet reached capacity constraints and remains capable of accommodating additional operators. For their part, Airports of Cameroon (ADC) reaffirmed their commitment to intensifying efforts to improve passenger assistance services and support airline operations to enhance the overall travel experience.

With these developments, the 2026/2027 Winter Season appears promising for Cameroon's air transport sector, delivering tangible benefits for both passengers and airline operators.
