The issue was raised during the second working meeting of the ad hoc commission held on July 25; 2019 in Conference Room No.1 of the Cameroon Civil Aviation Authority (CCAA).

The main task assigned to this working group by the Director General of the Cameroon Civil Aviation Authority (CCAA) consists in the elaboration of a strategy that aims to develop air cargo and thereby boost the economy of Cameroon.

During this second consultation, held on Thursday 25 July 2019, participants therefore agreed on a working methodology consisting of a work plan based on 06 major phases of activities to be implemented at each of the phases mentioned above.

As a reminder, it should be noted that air cargo contributes to the development of a country’s economy. As a result, it is crucial for the Government to better structure this sector.

For his part, the Director General of the CCAA, under the supervision of the Minister of Transport, is doing everything to support the strong growth of air cargo recorded in the last three years in Cameroon, hence the creation of an ad hoc Commission to develop a relevant strategy for the development of air cargo in our country.

Also, it should be noted that the term “cargo” or “air cargo” in Annex 9 to the Convention on International Civil Aviation refers to all goods carried on board an aircraft with the exception of the post office, on board provisions of passengers’ baggage.
