The CCAA launches an ICAO course designer training programme
This specialised training session, organised by the Cameroon Civil Aviation Authority (CCAA), began on August 3, 2026, at its Training School. This initiative forms part of the Authority’s strategic plan aimed at the sustainable strengthening of national capacity.

Delivered in accordance with the rigorous standards of the International Civil Aviation Organisation’s (ICAO) TRAINAIR PLUS Programme, this intensive ten (10)-day programme brings together twelve (12) senior staff from certain operational departments of the CCAA and the Ministry of Transport, as well as an internationally renowned ICAO instructor in the field of civil aviation, Mr Jacques Belinga Onana, a member of the ICAO TRAINAIR PLUS Bureau and a course designer.
The main objective of this training is to equip these professionals with the necessary skills to transform observations and performance issues often identified in the field and during audits into effective training programmes, combining pedagogical excellence with strict regulatory compliance.
Ultimately, these future course designers will be able to provide precise pedagogical solutions in the following key technical areas:
- Flight safety oversight;
- Aerodromes and ground aids;
- Aviation security;
- Air navigation services.
This training course will also help participants master a structured methodological sequence such as:
- Needs analysis based on operational data,
- Task analysis,
- Sequencing of learning objectives,
- Validation of standardised assessment tools.
It should be noted that this cohort increases the number of ICAO-certified course designers in Cameroon by 10 new experts. This strengthening of local human capital will undoubtedly reduce the need for external expertise, whilst also equipping the CCAA with the capacity to independently develop Standardised Teaching Packs (STPs).
