Within the framework of bringing these airports in Cameroon up to safety and security standards and, in order to make them even safer, the Cameroon Civil Aviation Authority (CCAA) has embarked on a vast programme of modernization and renovation of these infrastructures since 2016 with the support of the Presidency of the Republic through PIASA and World Bank financing.

The first of the two acquisitions was put into service on the road to Yaounde-Nsimalen International Airport on November 18, 2020 with the Airport Security Officers and Agents (ASO) on board.

The Director General of the CCAA opened the training workshop organized by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) on November 9, 2020 at the CCAA Security Training Center in Douala.
