The Cameroonian Delegation Visits the President of the ICAO Council

Led by the High Commissioner of Cameroon to Canada, Mr. Philippe NGOLLE NGWESE, who was accompanied by Ms. Paule Assoumou Koki, Director General of the CCAA, the Cameroonian delegation was received on 25 September 2025 by Mr. Salvatore Sciacchitano, the President of the Council, accompanied by Mr. Juan Carlos Salazar, Secretary General of ICAO.

Mr. Salvatore Sciacchitano seized this opportunity to once again congratulate Cameroon for all the efforts made and the great work accomplished to guarantee the security of Cameroonian airspace. In this regard, he expressed the wish that the safety component also receive particular attention. In the same vein, he also invited our country to manage the aspects related to accidents with the utmost seriousness, to support the region in the development of aviation, and to ensure the promotion of the liberalization of the Single African Air Transport Market (SAATM).
This position was reaffirmed by Mr. Juan Carlos Salazar, the Secretary General of ICAO. According to him, Cameroon possesses renowned experts whose inspiring leadership must continue to support aviation in general and drive the implementation of regulations in Africa.
These remarks were welcomed by the Head of the Cameroonian delegation, Ambassador Philippe NGOLLE NGWESE, who expressed Cameroon's gratitude for ICAO's constant support for Cameroon and for the confidence that this institution continually places in our country by granting it the privilege of supporting several of its activities. These components include: the provision of auditors, hosting training courses, receiving regional events, the recent election of Ms. Paule ASOUMOU KOKI to the Vice-Presidency of the ICAO Assembly, the appointment of fellow citizen Romain EKOTO as ICAO Regional Director for Western and Central Africa, and the integration of Divisional Commissioner Zacharie YAOU into the ICAO Public Key Directory (PKD) management system. He also mentioned the various reforms undertaken through the security oversight system, the infrastructure changes recorded at the airports, and skills development through the \text{EFO CCAA} in Cameroon, under the impetus of the President of the Republic, His Excellency Paul Biya. Furthermore, he highlighted the Equip4safety platform, which will be greatly useful to less developed countries, and for which Cameroon is seeking ICAO support for its continued development.
The audience concluded in a friendly atmosphere, with the shared commitment to pursue the dynamic development of civil aviation, which is a guarantee of safe and secure connectivity in Cameroon and beyond its borders.
