Complete election of the members of the  ICAO Council

The members of the Council Bureau from Group III were elected September 30, 2025  in Montreal, completing the list of 36 Member States that will sit at the head of the governing body of international civil aviation for the next three years.
The Council's Bureau is now complete. The results of the Group I elections on 27 September 2025, comprising States of major importance in air transport, saw Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States elected.
 
In the elections on 27 September 2025 for Group II, which includes the States that contribute most to international air navigation facilities, three African countries, namely Egypt, Nigeria, and South Africa, were elected, as well as Argentina, Austria, Iceland, India, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South- Africa, Spain, and Venezuela.
 
And on 30 September 2025, in Group III, which takes geographical representation into account, 14 States were chosen, including Angola, Belize, Cuba, Ecuador, Equatorial Guinea, Malaysia, Mali, Morocco, Poland, Qatar, the Republic of Korea, Uganda, the United Arab Emirates, and Uruguay.

The ICAO Council can therefore legitimately set to work to achieve its ultimate goal of global interconnection with zero accidents and zero carbon emissions in the sector.
