The aim is to anticipate and manage traffic flows to avoid congestion, and to implement measures to optimise the use of available airspace and improve management operations.

The CCAA and ASECNA also ensure proactive management of traffic flows and capacity by optimising the capacity and the flexibility of flight paths.  This activity enables the aforementioned providers to prevent any congestion and optimise the use of en-route air traffic control sectors. It is based on reliable data derived from the regular collection and analysis of air traffic statistics. Special arrangements are in place throughout Cameroonian airspace, particularly during the seasonal Hajj pilgrimage flights, major sporting events and in the event of ATS services being unavailable.
