A medical examiner or aeromedical examiner is authorised by the CCAA to carry out medical assessments and examinations for the issue, extension and renewal of Class 1, 2 and 3 medical certificates.
To obtain authorisation as an Authorised Medical Examiner (AME), the candidate must:
- Hold all the necessary qualifications and licenses to practise medicine;
- Have successfully completed the “basic training” and advanced training programmes in aviation medicine;
- Have access to suitable medical and technical facilities and equipment for the exercise of the privileges sought;
- Commit to carry out physical and mental fitness examinations in accordance with the applicable regulations.

To submit an application for approval as medical examiner, the applicant must:
- Complete form CMR.PEL.FORM.XXX, available on the DASIS platform (dasis.ccaa.aero);
- Attach all supporting documents confirming the information provided in the form;
- Send the duly completed form, together with the attachments, to the following email addresses:
- contact@ccaa.aero and
- licensing@ccaa.aero;
- Submit the complete physical application by post to the attention of the CCAA’s Directorate General.
